Preparing for Growth

When constructing the bond package, the Facility Planning Committee reviewed student enrollment projections from Zonda Demographics.

The study identified more than 1,570 vacant residential lots across 32 active subdivisions within the district. Based on this anticipated growth, Mildred ISD is projected to add approximately 150 to 300 students over the next ten years.

Student/Community Programs

The bond package will affect a variety of student programs. These programs include:

  • Theatre arts, band, color guard, STEM, athletics (baseball/softball, track, cheer, volleyball, football, etc.), and future CTE programs

  • The multipurpose auditorium/gym will provide space for the district to host various community programs, such as the Christmas program and the Veterans Day program, as well as assemblies, awards ceremonies, trainings, and similar events.

Safety & Aging Facilities

Safety, security, and facility updates were a top priority of the Facility Planning Committee. Projects include:

  • Secure fence areas

  • Improved traffic control, carpool queuing lanes, and parking

  • Updates to aging building systems (HVAC, plumbing, roofing)
