If voters approve all three propositions, there will be a projected tax rate impact of $0.067 (6.7 cents). For a $200,000 home (with a $140,000 homestead exemption), that’s $3.35 per month.

Under Texas law, the amount of school taxes paid on a residence homestead by a person age 65 or older or disabled cannot increase above the amount paid in the first year the exemption is received - regardless of whether the bond passes or fails. Homeowners must apply to receive this exemption.
